Annabel Buchan MBE was one of the six original Trustees that set up the Anita Goulden Trust in 1991 and she is the only one of them that is still a part of the Trust. Annabel is the only Administrator the Trust has ever had and she has donated a huge amount of her time as well as making her home available for Trust business. More than an administrator, it is fair to say that Annabel has embodied the Trust for many of our donors, friends and supporters. I and the other Trustees are enormously grateful to her for keeping the Trust running for those nearly 30 years.
Annabel’s extraordinary contribution to the Trust and to the Anita Goulden Home and its residents was recognised when, in 2004, she was made an MBE “for services to disadvantaged children in Peru”.
Sadly, due to having been diagnosed with cancer, Annabel has now decided to retire from the role of Administrator, truly marking the end of an era for the Trust, although we are delighted to say that she will continue to be a Trustee.

Grateful thanks for all the hard work and devotion that Annabel has given. I will pray for her and I wish Katharine every blessing as she takes on her role as administrator.
I would like to record my appreciation for the hard work and devotion that Annabel has given over the years and am delighted that her link with the Trust can continue as a Trustee, I am also very pleased that she has found someone to whom she can handover to continue the good work which I know has not been easy. I do hope that Annabel’s treatment is not delayed by the current pandemic.
